THE PHOTOGRAPHER

ABOUT ME

I’m Abe Robinson. Photographer, cinematographer, director and professional chaser of strange little accidents of light.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

I don’t want to show you what something looks like.
I want to show you what it feels like.

I founded Blind 7 in 2007 as a place to explore the stranger side of image-making: light, texture, color, atmosphere and the moments hiding just beyond the obvious.

My work moves between fine art, portraiture, music, commercial imagery and whatever odd idea refuses to leave my head. Sometimes that means building a world in-camera. Sometimes it means waiting for one strange little accident of light. The method changes. The goal doesn’t.

Make something worth looking at twice.

HOW I WORK

Good images start before the camera comes out.

01

CRAFT

Light, lens choice, movement and finishing should feel intentional, not accidental.

02

CHARACTER

Clean does not have to mean sterile. The work should still feel human, specific and unmistakably yours.

03

CALM

A good set runs better when the chaos stays behind the curtain. Preparation gives the creative work room to breathe.

Have something strange in mind?

Good. Those are usually the interesting ones.
